  I went back to UTC today with a few friends of mine.  I went around some streets and allies to  capture some shots of the emptiness. It ended up working out very well for me since there was no one on the street except for the occasional couple taking a stroll. We also went into the mall to see how populated it was, and to my luck, it wasn’t very full.  We went into a few stores to see how the mask policy was affecting customers. Stores were handing out free masks because they were required but only in shops, not outside of them. I filmed the main part of  the mall that was the most populated, even though there were only a few people around, mainly lounging on couches between shopping trips. The lack of population  definitely influenced  our COVID film  because looking back before the pandemic, the mall was always populated, now it is almost bone dry of life.  

  Today I called after work to go film at the hospital, but they said they were too busy to allow me to interview one of their nurses. They never specified as to why I couldn’t film, however, I hope to get an interview in before our project is due. Spencer already got his interview from a Sarasota Memorial nurse, which is good because at  least we have one nurse down. I spoke to him about it, and he said that if we can’t get both it will be alright because we already have one. I want to try and get two though to still show that comparison of two families and two different hospitals, but if not, we can always improvise or change up the script a bit.    Next week, I plan on heading over to UTC to get some more night shots on my cruiser board, along with shots inside of the mall. Last time, my night shots were very blurry, so I hope to get better shots this time around. I also have not  heard back from the music company yet. I hope they respond because I really lik...

We are back at school now, which makes filming a bit more difficult since we had a lot of time over break. I do plan on going back to the hospital today in order to  film some more hallway shots, along with get an interview from a nurse.  Within the next week, I will be trying to make my way to downtown and back to UTC to film some more shots, but this time something more contrasting, like night and day at each  location , along with their populations and how many people are wearing masks or how many people are  actually following  CDC guidelines.  We are running very slim on time, so getting all these clips in and edited is crucial. Spencer has a better hand at editing than I do, so I’m going to edit  all of  the clips together while he does the voice over narrative.  Once again, I will be on my skateboard in order to get some moving shots, but this time, I want to get a birds-eye view from the top of a building.   I went to a party for New Years and there were a lot of people here. There was a time where we were all gathered around the fire just talking, a few stragglers out playing cornhole. There were a lot of people home from college for the holidays, some of which haven’t seen each other in mo nths. We were all clustered together for a long period of time, again, no masks in sight. But even though there was a lack of facial covering, like I said in my previous post, it was relaxing. It felt like the pandemic hadn’t existed when we all were sitting outside, talking b y a fire. I pulled out my phone to film some shots, circling around the fire. Looking back at them now, they are quite fuzzy and shaky, so I don’t know if they’re the best quality to use for the film, but it would have been a neat idea to use them as a cont rast for the hospital shots that will be featured in the film.  I also recorded us watching the ball drop.
